Temple Sha’arey Shalom

Sisterhood

Temple Sha’arey Shalom’s Sisterhood is a wonderful way to get involved in our Temple community. The Sisterhood is a diverse group of women who come together in friendship, a sense of mitzvot and commitment to the well-being of our Temple and community. We are committed to providing women an opportunity to participate in volunteer work, advocacy, fundraising and educational programs. We meet on the 2nd Monday of every month to plan events that benefit our entire congregation.

Sisterhood sponsors and coordinates Friday night Onegs, holiday refreshments, B’nai Mitzvah gifts, Confirmation bibles, complimentary Sisterhood membership for new members, gifts for college students, and funding for students attending Jewish activities. In the past our Shalach Manot project has included every congregant receiving goodies at Purim. We also donate Shalach Manot bags to Jewish residents at local assisted living facilities.

Additionally, we raise money to support Temple-wide programming throughout the year; which have included such activities as Bingo, Girls’ Night Out, game nights and speakers on a variety of topics.

Sisterhood has something for everyone, and Sisterhood needs everyone to do something! Please join us at our next meeting and meet the women of our community.

Membership is open to all members and non-members of our community who identify as women. For more information, contact Sisterhood at 973-379-5387.
