Rav Uri Allen comes to our congregation with multiple theological degrees, including a BA in Jewish Studies from University of Maryland, an MA in Jewish Thought from Tel Aviv University, an MA in Rabbinic Studies from Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, American Jewish University and Rabbinic Ordination. He has many years of experience as a congregational Rabbi, providing pastoral care, adult study opportunities, creative Holiday and Shabbat service, and prayer through song. He leads a monthly "Nosh and Schmooze". He resides in Livingston with his family.
Cantor Jason M. Rosenman grew up in Rockland County, NY in the town of Haverstraw and gravitated to music at an early age. Several deep conversations throughout college with people of various different backgrounds led him to take up an interest in religion. These conversations fostered a desire to specifically focus on Jewish music and the idea of using his musical gifts to serve the Jewish community. Singing in a choir at a Reform synagogue in New City enabled this interest to intensify and helped his Cantorial career take root. Since his ordination, Cantor Rosenman has served positions in New Jersey, Florida, and Ohio. He is a member of the American Conference of Cantors and performs with the New Jersey Cantors' Concert Ensemble. Cantor and his wife, Amy, have a daughter, Samantha.
Rabbi Joshua Goldstein served as Temple Sha'arey Shalom's leader for 30 years, retiring on June 30, 2012. In July, 2012, he became our Rabbi Emeritus. Rabbi Goldstein has been active in a number of local and national organizations. Included among these are his positions on the Rabbinic Cabinet of the Association of Reform Zionists of America (ARZA), on the Rabbinic Advisory Committee of Camp Harlam, and on the Board of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). He is a Past President of the Springfield Clergy Association.
Cantor Amy Daniels served as Temple Sha'arey Shalom's Cantor for 30 years, retiring on June 30, 2018. In July, 2018, she became our Cantor Emerita. She was invested as a Cantor from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion School of Sacred Music in 1985, at which time there were less than thirty-five women cantors in the Reform Movement nationwide. Previous to her cantorial studies, Cantor Daniels received a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts Degree from Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied modern dance and music education. In April of 2010 Cantor Daniels was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Hebrew Union College in recognition of twenty-five years of service to the Jewish people as a gifted cantor.
