Note: All of our classes are taught by trained, qualified Early Childhood professionals.
Mommy and Me is a program designed for children ages 6 weeks through 18 months and their parents/caregivers. Each hour-long session is filled with experiences and activities including songs, games, sensory experiences, baby sign language, and more things that babies love to do. Resources for parents/caregivers will be available to help parents/caregivers maximize their experience with their baby.
Stay and Play is the next step along the journey to joining our Preschool, and is designed for children 18 through 24 months of age and their parents/caregivers. Every hour and a half class is designed to further enhance and challenge budding skills. There will be opportunities to improve social skills, build trust, develop motor skills, enjoy humor, curiosity and creativity, and so much more!
Toddlers meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15 until 11:30. This final step to fully transitioning into our Preschool is designed for children from 24 to 30 months of age. Toddlers stay and play with their teacher(s) and friends without parents/caregivers. Since Toddlers are neither “big infants” nor “small preschoolers,” activities are deigned to meet them at this very special stage in their development. They will be engaged in an environment of trust, allowing them to safely experiment and explore the world around them. They will realize a sense of personal power and competence, allowing them to really become active learners. Opportunities abound for our Toddlers to continue engaging in what they do best, play! Play is their work. Every morning is a busy one filled with possibilities across all learning domains…from creative art, to science, to early literacy, to music, to character building, to physical fitness, and more.
Jr. Preschool offers both part-time and full time options from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Children from 2-1/2 to 3 years old participate in an engaging setting that stimulates their ever-present thirst for knowledge, and knowing “why” and “how” things in the world around them are the way they are. Opportunities for hands-on learning help them discover something new each day. A variety of activities offering language and communication, social and cognitive development, creative and physical development will help them build confidence and skills…readying them for their next challenge, Preschool.
Preschool classes meet either full time or part time from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Our 3 to 4 year olds enjoy a curriculum that is theme-based and organized to challenge skills, and foster self-direction and confidence. Each unit cross-incorporates experiences within the early childhood learning spectrum: language and literacy, math and science, creative arts and music, motor skills and social development, and technology. Children enjoy their improved social skills and engage in small and large group activities, while continuing to challenge themselves independently.
Pre-K classes welcome children either full time or part time from 9:00 a.m. – noon. Prekindergarten is an important final step before going on to Kindergarten. As we continue to lead the children along their path to lifelong learning, we encourage greater independence, while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment. Children are able to challenge themselves and be their own thinkers in an environment that feels safe. Daily experiences include opportunities for building pre-reading and pre-writing skills (letter recognition and sounds, beginning writing skills,) basic pre-math skills (sorting, matching, classifying,) creative arts and music, and science and technology (predicting, testing, drawing conclusions.) There is the option for children to attend the Walton Elementary afternoon Pre-K, and be transported by school bus.
